Among the Crores of Disciples of SultanulArifeensheikh Hamzah Makhdoomi radiallahu anhu across the world. One was Hazrat Haadi Sheikh (rehmatullahe alayh) who was very pious & God fearing man from his childhood. He was in search of Murshid(spiritual Teacher) to reach his ultimate goal and he reached everywhere for this cause. It happened one day while he was sitting in Khana-e-kaba & yearning for the Spiitual teacher, he heard a divine voice who said to him, 'O Haadi reshi your Murshid Sheikh Hamzah Makhdoomi rematullahe alayh) is in Kashmir. Just after he heard the divine voice, he packed his important things and rushed from Makkah to kashmir. While on his way, everday a great man appeared to him, who guided & helped him during this blessed journey towards Kashmir. When Hazrat Haadi Reshi (rehmatullah alayh) arrived in kashmir & Saw his eminence Sheikh Hamzah Al-Makhdoomi (qadasallahu sira) and recognized him. He confirmed the Great Sheikh(makhdoomsahab) is same person who appeared everyday throughout my journey from makkah to kashmir and used to ask about my state!!!. Amongst the great luminaries in the world of spirituality in Kashmir, Hazrat Makhdoom SahibRA, a spiritual tourist with heart full of compassion, a symbol of selflessness and generosity occupies a distinguished place. It is customary that if we want to have detailed information about a person in theworldly affairs, we try to approach and inquire hiscontacts, friends, classmates and other acquaintances. Much is not documented about Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib RA, the author therefore sought the documented opinions, views, thoughts and experiences of some of the top spiritual personalities who were contemporaries of Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib RA. Mir Baba Hyder Tullamuli, Mulla Sheikh Ahmed Chagli, Khawaja Hasan Qari, Khawaja Ishaq Qadri, Baba Ali Raina, Mulla Bahauddin, Allama Sheikh Baba Dawood Khaki, Moulana Tahir Rafeeque, Baba Naseeb-ud-Din Gazi are some of the great sufis of the time who have experiences with the Makhdoom Sahib RA. Allama Khaki RA (the first disciple and student of Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib RA) quotes that besides religious, spiritual and moral knowledge, Makhdoom Sahib RA was bestowed with a divine knowledge - Ilm-e-Ladunni - a special form of knowledge bestowed to a saint when he or she understands the reality of tawheed. Baba Dawood Khaki narrates in his book, that Makhdoom SahibRA was a standard bearer of invaluable unforeseen power and command. Besides he had the capability to pre-engage wordsand complete reciting Quran within no time (Tye-Haroof), omnipresent (Tye-Makan)and Tye zaman (see before-hand), says Mulla Tahir Rafique in his book Tohfa Mehboobia .When asked what is the level of spirituality and supernatural blessings between you and Makhdoom SahibRA ; the level and degree is samebut Hazrat Makhdoom SahibRA has been granted for himself and for dissipating to others. I have been conferred only for myself not for dissipation,replied Mulla Rafique. In a severe winter a poor disciple came from Anantnag (Islamabad) with a bag of coke on his back and presented it to the murshid with a view that it will be used to a combat cold. The murshid had a pity on the innocence and love of his mureed and offered in return a handful of coke, with an advice to see it at home. He was amazed tosee coke turned into Gold. The incident is narrated by Hazrat Baba Naseeb ud Din GaziRA in a request to murshid as angish tilla kar de tilla, behremureede benawa Choon az karm kar de dua ya Sheikh Hamza Peer ma. Moulana Noor ud Din Jafar Badakhshi quotes his murshid's (Mir Syyed Ali Hamadani) saying in his book Khulasatul Munaqib, that there is always a group of Sufis who are named as Akhyar Sayyah (The spiritual Tourists). They are assigned a specialduty by Allah to help and guide those righteous persons who are in desperate need. They are always a group of seven such big souls working together. Makhdoom Sahib RA too had been giftedwith this special duty. Many a time he was reported present by the people around when he was physically hundreds of miles far away. Was it the rumour of death of his brother Baba Ali RainaRA, in Arabia, he did not follow the rumour instead met his brother who latter confirmed after his arrival. A fire broke out in Village Tujjar, while Makhdoom Sahib was physically at Lolab. Suddenly he sprinkled water on the walls of the room he was sitting in, next day people in Tujjar village reported Makhdoom SahibRA extinguishing the fire of his house. In view of the degrees of Ibadah, he acquired various super special levels in mystical dimension and Tasauf. He became Gousul Azam at 15, Qutbul Aqtab at 21, Qutbul qawnain at 31 and supremo of all the saints of the the time at the age of 41,quotes Mulla Sheikh Ahmed Chagli Sahib RA in hisbook Risala Sultania. Asrarul Abrar, a book on spiritual athleticism mentions that Makhdoom Sahib RA ordered the running river waters to inform Mir Baba Hyder Tullamuli RA (a close Associate of Makhdoom Sahib RA) that he wants to relish fish from river Sind; within an hour Mir Baba Hyder Tullamuli RA came with the dish and told he was informed by the water to do so. Makhdoom SahibRA has been very strict a teacher quotes Baba Dawood khaki RA in Virdul Mureedeen. Sharing his studentship secretes in the book, he mentions that murshed initially assigned Baba DawoodRA, feeding and watering horses, forfetching water for the community kitchen; he was made to wrap bovine skin on body and to wear a leather cap on head, wear a chappal made of grass (Pulhor) and lead the horse on which Makhdoom SahibRA rode. The on lookers were amazed to see their former Chief justice doing it for his murshid (teacher), but observations of the sincere student were totally astonishing!Pa barhana choon ze shokh anderkash medum Khar o shak tareequm az gulmar shud ast When I walked in such costume, I could see myselfwearing a crown and costume better than that of a king.The roads appeared as gardens of flowers and beautiful landscaping.
